Your Instructor: 

Dr. Shamsunnahar Yasmin (Shams) is a Senior Research Fellow/Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) with a joint appointment between the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q) and the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is an Associate Investigator of the Centre for Behavioural Economics, Society and Technology (BEST). She serves in an honorary Adjunct Faculty position at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She is a Transport engineer with specialization in Travel Demand Modelling and the application of statistical and behavioral econometric models in Transport Science. She leads multidisciplinary mixed-method research. At QUT, she is the lead researcher in developing interdisciplinary analytical frameworks employing advanced econometric models to quantify the impacts of disruptions on road safety and travel demand. She serves as editor for several journals, including the Journal of Analytic Methods in Accident Research, Scientific Reports – Nature Portfolio, and Transportation Research Record. Over the last six years, she has been awarded membership for several committees of the Transportation Research Board (TRB). She is also a committee member for the Australian Institute of Traffic Planning and Management (AITPM) Transport Modelling Network.
