Significant challenges in the economic environment of the Australian not-for-profit sector has resulted in many charitable organisations seeking to undertake restructures. Reduction in traditional government outsourcing, increased competition for philanthropic donations and new market opportunities afforded by national Disability Insurance Scheme, have necessitated changes to traditional business models. This project examines the drivers of mergers, demergers, acquisitions and divestments in the not-for-profit sector.
