The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies Alumni Chapter
We take a keen interest in the success of students studying philanthropy, nonprofit and social enterprise at QUT’s Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (ACPNS). We donate book bursaries, sponsor a student prize and mentor students and alumni (currently for our postgraduate students and soon to be for our undergrads as well).
About our Chapter
The ACPNS Alumni Chapter includes students and graduates of the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters of Philanthropy and Nonprofit studies. It also now includes an Undergraduate Membership group for students taking the Social Enterprise Elective BSB130. Our members represent many organisations in the nonprofit sector locally and internationally.
Student prize ceremony
We host an annual prize-giving ceremony for postgraduate philanthropy and nonprofit students. Alumni are welcome to join the celebration and take advantage of this networking opportunity.
We invite alumni to our free professional development sessions. Our lecturers and other sector leaders share their insights on changes and emerging issues in the nonprofit sector such as tax and regulatory reform, fundraising, management and social enterprise.
The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (ACPNS) Alumni Chapter includes students and graduates of the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, research Masters and PhD students in our area. A special new part of our chapter is undergraduate students studying Social Enterprise at QUT. Our members represent many organisations in the nonprofit, philanthropy and social enterprise sector across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
Our purpose is two-fold. We assist current and past ACPNS students by enriching their learning experience and networks and providing practical support. Equally, we champion the goals of the Centre itself, from its research and engagement activities to its efforts to bring education and training to more people interested in social enterprise and the philanthropic and nonprofit sector. In doing so we support the development of the sector, the people in it and the communities they serve, locally and abroad.
ACPNS Alumni Chapter membership is free. To become a member, you will have studied a Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies degree or unit. To become an Undergraduate Member, you will be studying or have completed BSB130 Social Enterprise. Come along to our Chapter meetings and social events to enjoy the networking opportunities and keep up to date by joining the Facebook Alumni Chapter group. To find out more about you can support current and future ACPNS students.
