The aim of this work is to discuss current debates surrounding authorship — as both practice and concept — and how it is being impacted by Generative AI. In doing so, this research takes a pharmacological approach (as used by Derrida and Stiegler) to understanding changes to authorship brought about AI systems with increasingly lucid writing and communicative abilities.
