Penny Neller is the National Palliative Care Projects Coordinator at the Australian Centre for Health Law Research, Faculty of Business and Law, Queensland University of Technology. She manages two projects funded by the Australian Government Department of Health:
- End of Life Law for Clinicians, a national training program for health professionals to improve their knowledge of the law and practice relating to end of life decision-making, and
- the End of Life Directions for Aged Care End of Life Law Toolkit, a resource to support health professionals and care workers to deliver quality end of life, aged and palliative care.
Penny co-authors the website End of Life Law in Australia, a free website for the community that provides information about end of life laws in each Australian State and Territory.
Penny is a lawyer with 13 years’ experience in end of life law, health and social policy, and systemic advocacy for vulnerable groups. She is particularly interested in improvements to policy and practice to support delivery of optimal end of life care consistent with individual’s preferences.
