Dr Amanda Ward

Amanda Ward has a masters and PhD in law reform on Voluntary Assisted Dying. She has been the lead Legal Advisor on proposed VAD legislation to Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) since 2013. Currently, she is Research and Legal Advisor to the Deputy Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament on the proposed Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill 2023.

An appointed member, and former Convener, of the Law Society of Scotland’s Health and Medical Law Committee, Amanda has taught various honours-level law subjects at universities throughout Scotland and was CEO of an end-of-life charity in the UK.
