Marcia Mattushek

PhD Student

Marcia is currently a PhD Candidate at the QUT Business School. Her research is considering the mechanisms and conditions in which entrepreneurial learning occurs within business incubators and accelerators. The origins of this research flow from Marcia’s engagement as an entrepreneur seeking to learn in an incubator, and her subsequent reflections on the challenges found within such dynamic learning environments.

This research aims to develop a model of entrepreneurial learning to assist both entrepreneurs and incubator managers. As an active entrepreneur and nascent researcher, Marcia is focused on bringing her practical understanding of the entrepreneurial process into the research process to ensure that a strong contribution is made to the practice of learning in entrepreneurial contexts.

Marcia works as a tutor in both the Faculty of Education and the Business School where her emphasis is on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking.

Marcia completed her undergraduate degree in Business (Management) through Charles Sturt University and went on to do an Honours degree (First Class). Her honours research focused on Business Visa Migration from Southern Africa to Australia in which she used a mixed methods approach.
