Joy Zhang

PhD student

Joy Zhang is a PhD Candidate at the QUT Business School and a scholarship recipient of Australian Government’s Research Training Program. Her research examines the journey of entrepreneurs’ digital venture building from a legitimacy perspective, using multiple case study method. She has also completed a Master of Business (by research) on the topic of how dynamic capabilities are leveraged for venture building in a unique institutional environment – China.

Joy’s interest in studying entrepreneurship in international context was originated from her prior experiences in management consulting, e-commerce and education. She has worked in, for and with start-ups, small businesses and multinationals in China and Australia.

Joy also works as a tutor for QUT Business School and UQ where her teaching focus is on marketing (services marketing and international marketing) and entrepreneurial thinking.

Joy completed her undergraduate degree in Business (Marketing and Advertising) with QUT and went on to do agraduate diploma in secondary education through Griffith University.
