Two Former Ph.D. students of ACE Director appointed university Vice Chancellors

In the last few months, ACE Director Per Davidsson has seen two of his former disciples elevated to Vice-Chancellor (University President) positions. In March, Dr. Semasinghe Dissanayake was appointed VC of the University of Kelaniya, one of the leading universities in Sri Lanka. Semasinghe completed his dissertation at QUT in 2011 under Per’s supervision. In June, Dr. Agneta Marell, who completed her PhD in 1998 with Per as associate supervisor and co-author of several articles based on the dissertation, was appointed new Vice Chancellor of Jönköping University in Sweden, a position she will take up in October. As Per still has a secondary affiliation with Jönköping University this also means the former disciple will become his formal superior! We wish Semasinghe and Agneta all the best in their new, challenging positions.
