Tiago Guerzet Sardenberg Lima

    Research Students

Tiago Guerzet is a PhD candidate at QUT, specializing in the field of biomedical engineering. With a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering as his foundation, he further expanded his expertise through a master’s degree focused on fluid dynamics. During this time, he gained valuable experience working on two-phase flow experiments, mechanistic modelling, and image processing. Furthermore, Tiago worked as a mechanical engineer researcher, developing, and commissioning an experimental fluid dynamics plant. Additionally, he had the rewarding experience of teaching as a professor of mechanical engineering, covering subjects such as fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, fluid machinery, and more. Currently, his research as a PhD candidate revolves around experimentally evaluating the mechanics and fluid dynamics of intracranial aneurysms. This work contributes crucial information to computational simulations, including CFD, FEM, and FSI, for improved risk assessment of this medical condition. Furthermore, he is actively involved in research related to heart tricuspid valve devices and the development of experimental setups.
