This MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING agreement is entered into by and between the Nanjing Stomatological Hospital (NSH), Medical School of Nanjing University, Nanjing University, China and the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI), Queensland University of Technology, Australia. Both parties are committed to enhancing scientific and institutional cooperation in the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine research and have set forth the following Memorandum of Understanding.
IHBI and NSH have an established track record of productive research collaboration and seek to strengthen this cooperative relationship through:
- Support collaborative research projects of mutual academic benefit and the attraction of research funding in Australia, China and internationally.
- Facilitation of exchange and collaborative mentorship of Doctoral students and early career postdoctoral researchers in the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
- Support for intellectual exchange, friendship and understanding between the staff and students of the two parties.
The parties intend to pursue the following initiatives to strengthen research collaboration and exchange:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to attract Australian, Chinese and/or international research funding to support joint research projects, establishment of research consortia, and hosting of research meeting.
- Identify opportunities and source financial support for doctoral students and early or mid-career researchers to undertake short term research exchanges or sabbaticals at IHBI and the NSH.
- Encourage the joint supervision of PhD and Masters students by senior academic staff at both institutes.
- Provide administrative and project development support to joint IHBI and NSH research teams in the development of joint research applications and other collaborative initiatives.
