Understanding the accountability needs of a broader range of stakeholders
Accountability in entities is typically prioritised to stakeholders more readily able to hold the entity to account. These stakeholders include regulators or those with financial control or power; resulting in less powerful stakeholders being excluded from accountability processes. A different way of viewing both the giving and receiving of accounts within entities and the nature of those accounts may promote more equitable stakeholder accountability.
